Mineral Studies
There were two population studies of hair minerals by Trace Elements, Inc. One was done in the early 1970's and the other was done in 2000. Both population studies were done on healthy people. The criteria used for "healthy people" included those:
With no diagnosed disease
Were not taking any medication
Many were athletes
Some of the range limits dropped significantly from the prior population study that was done in the early 1970’s. One interpretation is that the population study done in 2000 was from a population that was less healthy than the population in the prior study. Here are some examples of how much the mid-range values (or target values) have changed.
